getting started! |
My boyfriend, M, his family-dog Nana and me went on an awesome trip to beautiful east Germany two weeks ago!
First, we went to my lovely home town: Leipzig. It's where my parents met, where I was born and where my father (who is a historian and
writer and deeply in love with his city) still lives. We saw as much of Leipzig as one can see in 48 hours, visited my, let's say: unique, grandparents, met with my stepmother and chatted with old friends. I deeply enjoyed showing M where I am from, and being in colorful, open-minded, inviting, relaxed Leipzig is always good for my soul and so is seeing my father. I had a wonderful time with my two favourite men and the cutest dog on earth!

a look into the world famous 'Thomas Kirche'... |
|
...mostly famous for this guy: Johann Sebastian Bach |
|
Leipzig is also home of Germany's biggest (and some might argue, scariest) monument- the Völkerschlachtsdenkmal |
|
and, without wanting to brag, Germany's biggest library. If your into books, Leipzig is the place to be (and also the place where the first music notes were printed) |
|
The beginning of the end, the 'Nikolaikirche' where the people of Leipzig and the GDR gathered to protest the socialst system. |

the museum is home to this monkey, which gets my father- who is a historian specializing on monkeys, really excited |
