My dearest bird,
going through life without a best friend by my side is hard. I wonder how (stronger?) people without best friends manage at all. Here in Italy, there are many nice people, stunning architecture, tons of things to discover and lots of good wine. But it's good wine and tons of things to discover without you, and today that feels extra hard.

I'm thinking of you with every glass of white wine (no worries, so far I have no serious drinking problem) and, obviously, with every bird I see!

Liebste Bird,
ohne die beste Freundin durchs Leben zu gehen ist hart. Ich frag mich, wie (stärkere?) Menschen ohne beste Freundin überhaupt über die Runden kommen. Hier in Italien gibt es viele nette Menschen, wunderschöne Architektur, viel zu entdecken und eine ganze Menge guten Wein. Aber es ist halt guter Wein und vieles zu entdecken ohne dich, und heute fällt mir das schwer.
Ich denke an dich, bei jedem Glas Weißwein (keine Sorge, noch habe ich kein ernsthaftes Trinkproblem) und natürlich bei jedem Vogel, den ich sehe!
